Generous donations flood in for our Chemo Day Unit

Staff on our Chemo Day Unit have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our fundraisers, after receiving some fantastic donations.

Huge thanks goes to the family of Jim Egan, who recently fundraised £4150 at a Charity Night in Jim’s memory at Ryton Social Club. The night included a tombola, auction and music from a family friend’s band.

Katy Quinn, Jim’s daughter, said: “My dad passed away at the beginning of August last year and was looked after extremely well by the chemo day unit. This was my family’s way of saying thank you to everyone involved in his care.”

Staff in the chemo department also organised a raffle over Christmas which raised an additional £1475 for the unit.

Michele Huges Chemotherapy Services Manager, added: “We are extremely grateful to Jim’s family for fundraising for our unit – the charity night was enjoyed by all and it’s great that so much was raised. Thanks also to everyone who contributed towards our raffle. Every penny will help patients and families on our Chemotherapy Department. Thank you!!”
