Purpose of the Processing and Legal basis

The purpose of the processing is to administer donations from the general public to the Charity. This enables the Trust to accept gifts of property for the purposes of the Trust or any purposes relating to the health service.

The Charity relies on the powers conferred on the Trust under section 47(c) of the NHS Act 2006 to accept gifts of property. The information is processed with the consent of the donor under Article 6 (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation. In certain circumstances the Charity may also process data under Article 6(1)(f) where “processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or a third party”.

Information Sharing

Information is not shared with any third parties and is only processed for the purposes of administering the donation.

General Rights of information held by the Trust

Data Retention

Data will be retained in compliance with the Records Management Code of Practice for Health and Social Care 2016 which details retention periods for employment records. This is available on the NHS Digital website at:-  NHS Records Management Code of Practice.

Individuals Rights

All data subjects have a right of access under subject access provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Other rights include:-

  • To be informed why, where and how we use your information.
  • To ask for access to your information.
  • To ask for your information to be corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • To ask for your information to be deleted or removed where there is no need for us to continue processing it.
  • To ask us to restrict the use of your information.
  • To ask us to copy or transfer your information from one IT system to another in a safe and secure way, without impacting the quality of the information.
  • To object to how your information is used.
  • To challenge any decisions made without human intervention (automated decision making). 
  • The right to withdraw consent where relevant
