Lindsay braves the chop in memory of friend

Best of luck to Lindsay Reilly who is planning to get her long hair cut short, in memory of her friend Christine Nelson.

Lindsay will donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, who make real hair wigs for children. She is also fundraising for the Critical Care Unit at the QE Hospital in Gateshead.

She said: “Christine was one of my closest friends and it was devastating to see her go at just 24 years old.  A couple of years ago, I decided to give something back to the critical care unit where Christine passed away so did two Great North Runs for QE Charitable Funds, raising over £800.

“Unfortunately I am unable to run this year, but really wanted to raise money again for the unit – so this seemed like the best way to do it.  Fundraising is a perfect way to remember my amazing friend as I know all of the money goes to helping patients and their families on the ward, at a time of need.”
